It's not every day that a former Webster City resident gets to perform on national television. And Seth Hoveland, of Des Moines, will have that chance on Labor Day, performing with his band, Hollywood Burnout, on the 21-hour Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. The Des Moines-based band will be performing in two separate time slots on Monday, from 5 to 6 a.m. and from 11 to noon, Central Time. The show can be seen on KDSM FOX-17. Hoveland said that becoming a member of Hollywood Burnout, as well as his future performance on national television, has been an unexpected ride. "It's been going so fast," Hoveland said. "I decided to answer an ad on Craigslist, for a band looking for a bass player — I figured why not?" As a bass player, Hoveland joined brothers Josh Sinclair (vocals and guitar) and Nick Sinclair (drums and backup vocals) in the band. The two brothers had formerly been in a two-piece band called Little Mojo for 10 years.
